this takes me back to my yute'...

does it get any better than this?...turn it up

the lovers anthem...

sing me bak home Louisianne...

I'm feelin' better with every toon...it's just another election...

and here's Shuggie when he was 20 years old playin' in his daddy's band...and their ain't no light-weights in a Johnny Otis Band...

and you talk about focus and self confidence...when Mick Taylor left the Stones, Shuggie Otis was their first choice to replace him...he turned them down...

Al Kooper and Shuggie Otis...

Mick Taylor with the Rolling Stones...

Jon Otis - Walkin' Round The World...

and Johnny Otis' son, Jon Otis with Swampthang-live at 19 Broadway...

and the Buddy Owen Band with Ian Lamson on second guitar...

like Sonny Landreth: "On his latest album the Louisiana-based slide guitar wizard does something unprecedented in his body of work, as he collaborates with five of the greatest guitar players on the planet -- Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Robben Ford, Eric Johnson and Vince Gill -- for some jaw-dropping performances. Also making a house call is legendary New Orleans pianist and singer Dr. John and iconic Gulf Coast troubadour Jimmy Buffett."

let's hear some really great slide guitar players...like John  Lee Hooker and Ry Cooder...

I voted and that's my story...and I'm stickin' to it, I did what I could and retire with a satisfied mind...

well. the polls should be closing by now and  I'm in a perfect mood to hear even the saddest nooze...so I guess I'll head home and deal with it

personally, I'd rather be sad listening to good music then following this sorry election cycle...some of these toons are real sad...but this election is tragic...the repugs' bathing in Lake Peter Principle

finally, some toons that are sadder than this election cycle...

Rosanne Cash, Johnny Cash's Daughter, Slams 'Asshat' John Boehner
House Minority Leader John Boehner has been walking the line on the campaign trail, conjuring up American icons who may or may not agree with his message in order drum up support from his base. Rosanne Cash, daughter of the legendary singer Johnny Cash, a name frequently brought up by the GOP leader, apparently thinks that line has been crossed, as she recently tweeted a demand -- and an insult -- to Boehner asking him to cut it out.

"John Boehner: Stop using my dad's name as a punchline, you asshat," Cash wrote in a tweet Monday.
"[H]e didn't sign on to be punchline for some politician; he's not here to defend himself. He deserves more honor. Think what you will."

now this is my version of Taylor Swift...

Chris Matthews: Don’t compare any human being to Glenn Beck
During post-election analysis Tuesday, MSNBC's Chris Matthews made a little-noticed but sharp-tongued zing at Fox News competitor Glenn Beck. "He’s a weeper," MSNBC host Rachel Maddow said, speaking of Speaker-in-Waiting John Boehner, who broke into tears after Republicans retook the House. "I mean there’s people in cable news that we all know who part of the way they connect with people is by weeping. It’s one of the things he does. And I think it’s probably moving to him that he’s Speaker." Maddow appeared to be referring to Glenn Beck, who's been known to tear up on his Fox News show. "Don’t compare him to Beck," Chris Matthews fired back. "Don’t compare any human being to Glenn Beck." Beck has even been known to fake tears, as he did for a GQ photo shoot. "The crying was my idea, and Glenn was cool with trying it," photographer Jill Greenberg told Gawker. "We used mentholated balm to make his eyes tear up naturally. From then on it was acting on his part. He had fun with it and was a great sport."height="344">
